Next up was the annual Halloween Party we attend. In the past it had been at another friend's home and it was a pot-luck lunch/dinner outdoors with a huge bonfire after the sun sets. However, another couple moved into a new house and wanted to host the event. Thus, the Halloween party was much warmer than years past. Bob and I, along with Erik, Sharre, Tom and Theresa showed up late as we had watched MSU clobber UofM in football earlier in the day. We arrived about 8:30pm to a party in full swing. We got to meet Micheal Phelps, Medusa, Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz), the pumpkin man, a Sugar Plum Fairy and her Nutcracker along with an assortment of pirates. It was a very entertaining evening with the Sugar Plum Fairy and Michael Phelps winning the costume contest.

And finally, I awoke this morning to the excitement and anxiousness of voting! I arrived at my polling place at 7:45am and finally placed my vote around 8:30am. Bob stepped out for a moment so he could vote as well. I definitely must be getting old, as I can't wait to go home, make dinner, have a glass of wine and watch the news and the poll results. What happened to me =)
On another note, we ask for prayers for Bob's niece Jessie. Her and her brother were in a car accident this weekend. Though Dylan came out with only a scratch -maybe some nightmares- Jessie is another story. She is doing much better, but is still and will be in pain for a while. She broke 3 ribs, 5 bones in her back (the knobby part of the spine-the bones created to protect the vertebra and the spinal column) and has numerous cuts that had to be stitched. Her spirits are good, but she is still in the hospital and yesterday had to be fitted for a back brace. Please keep her in your thoughts and pray for a quick recovery.
