What a crazy and busy summer we had. So much to do, so little time! I'll give a summarized, quick recap so I don't bore you to death!
Summer started off with a bang with Bobby's high school graduation and open house. The following weekend we had our annual "Friends & Family" camping trip to Sleepy Hollow to celebrate Father's Day (It's a tradition Bob started up about 15 years or so ago). The next weekend after that, we drove to Sikeston, MO for Bob's family reunion. Of course, then there was 4th of July weekend! Bob and I made a promise that as much as we would like to try something new for the 4th of July, it's best to stick with what we love, Higgins Lake. So Higgins Lake it was for the holiday weekend. Next up was the annual canoe trip we attend every year (here's pictures -not all are posted yet). It was an absolute blast as always! The next 4 weekends after that were pretty slow (thank God), though on July 25th we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary. It was low-key, but after being as busy as we were, was exactly what we needed. August was not entirely as busy as earlier in the summer, which was good, because it was time for us to start putting real miles on our bikes in training for the DALMAC. We were either riding our bikes to or from work most days and were really pushing for time on the bikes during the weekends. About mid-August, we threw a surprise birthday party for Bob's mom, which was very successful and a lot of fun! It was really nice just getting everyone together for food and laughs on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
August, however, did seem to fly by unusually fast and next thing we knew we were beginning our journey on our bikes from East Lansing to the Mackinaw Bridge. The last 2 weekends of summer we really didn't do much of anything but relax and watch football. Now here we are in the midst of our 1st full week of fall and I am ready for next summer already =)
