8 Long (or short) Months

8 months... the last time you heard from us, well at least on our blog. We've been keeping quite busy since September 2010. In October 2010, Bob and I flew out to San Francisco to help out a client, who was trying to win over a new client. Through all the long hours of working, we did manage to find some time to enjoy the city. Briefly, but we did. Got some great photos out of the adventure too. San Francisco is a beautiful city and probably what we realized the most friendliest big city. Everyone was super nice and helpful! We were even able to find a bar near our hotel that played MSU football games - Bob was in heaven. To top off our week in San Francisco, the SF Giants beat the Texas Rangers in the World Series. You wouldn't believe the parties in the streets... going on all... night... long! Unfortunately, we couldn't participate too much as we had a 5am flight out of San Francisco headed for home the next morning. It was sure exciting to what all those fans celebrate though.

Of course through November & December, we enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with friends and family. Thanksgiving and Christmas were just plain awesome this year!

In January, Bob was needed on a jobsite in Shreveport, Louisiana. So he left on a Friday and was gone for 9 days. It was hard being apart. Easier for Bob, since he was working 12 hour days; by time he was finished working for the day he was pretty exhausted and ready for bed. As for myself, I got a ton of reading done. It was quiet around the house!

February, we had the Bath Boxing Show, in which both Bobby and Amber had fights. They both won! It was a great turn out and fun to watch them. At the end of February, we headed to Lexington, Kentucky for USA Boxing Regionals for Bobby. It was a nice, short get-away. It was a good 35 degrees warmer than home and just felt plain nice not to be freezing! Bobby ended up losing, which was very heartbreaking. On a good note, she did get recognized and was offered a 2nd chance to fight at Nationals in Colorado Springs, CO mid-June! So we will be heading to Colorado in June to support Bobby and the other girls from the Clinton County Boxing Club who also made it as far!

In March, we, along with our niece & nephew & sister's significant other, threw Bob's sister a surprise birthday party! And we pulled it off... she was not happy at first, but quickly realized how everyone that came just loves her so much! It was very awesome! As we slowly proceeded through March, I started counting down our days until vacation... We left April 1st for Orlando, Fl for the 1st leg of our trip. It was gorgeous and sunny and just so much better weather than Michigan! The big plus is all the time spent with my (Dawn) family! We left Florida early Thursday morning and made our way, slowly, to New Orleans, where we had booked a hotel for a night. It was fabulous! Definitely a must go back to place for a longer weekend, since we only really had about 14 hours in the city!

We left New Orleans early afternoon and meandered our way up to Vicksburg, Mississippi, where we ended up staying for the night. The next morning, we started our journey home, with an afternoon stop thrown in the mix to spend time with Bob's family in Lexington, Miss. It was a wonderful visit and an awesome way to end vacation!
