Sorry friends it has been 11 days since our last post... Life has been quite busy the last 2 weeks. Since I miss 2 weekends, I'll give you the abbreviated version: We've been watching WAY TOO MUCH FOOTBALL!!!!! :)
No, really... Saturday, September 8th we decided to venture to MSU campus for a little tailgating. We picked up Sharre around 8:30 am and headed to campus. Unfortunately for Erik (Sharre's husband), he had to work the night before, so he did not meet up with us until almost game time. Erik had scored tickets to the game, so after meeting up with some friends, we headed back to the stadium. Let me tell you (this would be Dawn)... I've never been to a more boring football game in my life (they played and beat Bowling Green). Considering it was such a beautiful day, it was hard not to wish we had taken one of the very last opportunities to get a last suntan on the boat. Oh well...
On late Sunday evening, Bob, being the gracious gentleman he is to me, was helping me with laundry, picked up two baskets of clean clothes and injured his back. We still aren't sure what exactly happened, but whatever it was, put him in a laying position for 4 days straight. He had been seeing a chiropractor, but over the summer his original back pain was slowly coming back. Because the pain was so great when he tried to move or walk, he was grounded to the couch (of course watching SportsCenter) and got crankier as each day passed knowing he was missing work and slowly getting behind. We ended up at Clinton Memorial Emergency to at least get pain medication until we could get him to a doctor. The first time we visited, they took xrays and gave him more pain meds and told him to come back in a couple days if the pain hadn't subsided. By Thursday, he was demanding to go back to the doctor. Getting him out the door was going to be a feat within itself. However, as he was trying to get up Thursday, he strained himself so much because of the pain, we think it was a pinched nerve for the time being because the intensity of the pain immediately subsided. By the time we got to see the doctor, his pain was just slightly worse than the prior week. They still pushed through a referral for his orthopedic surgeon. We'll find out in a couple weeks if it's just a nerve or if it's a disc.
As for last weekend, we went and watched Bob's daughter Amy play in a softball tournament in St. Johns for a couple hours, then we headed out to find a restaurant that would be playing the MSU game against Pitt. We hung out there for a while with Whitey, Erik and Sharre, then ended up meeting J & Lesa later. Sunday, we just hung out together. Being together is so much fun... even when there's nothing going on. IT MUST BE LOVE =)
No pics this time around... Camera died and can't find the battery charger at this point... booo.
