Open House Weekend

This weekend was a really busy, but was really entertaining. I had a planned vacation day set for Thursday to get decorations bought and what not for the upcoming wedding. I started the day by driving up to Rainbow Lake to see Kate and Matt's new home - which is very beautiful - then we spent our time digging up flower bulbs before heading to Lansing to wandered from store to store trying to find what we needed for our ideas. It was actually a pretty easy process with us both taking a little bit of time to look/shop for our own personal pleasure.

Friday evening Bob and I got out of work, headed to SJ to pick up tables for Amber's open house, then came home to get ready for an evening out. When we arrived home, Erik & Sharre were already chillin' on our porch with drinks in their grips. We were waiting for Bob's high school buddy, Jim, to drive in from Holland for the weekend (for Amber's open house and for a high school reunion picnic). While waiting Jason and Lesa showed up as well. Once everyone had arrived it was getting too late, so instead of going to Festival of the Moon in Old Town, we ended up relaxing on our porch as night engulfed us. Jim had loaded his Mp3 player with some over-played and some long forgotten 80's tunes, to which we took to making a spectacle of ourselves by some very horrendous dancing... Thank God it was about 1am when all this was taking place. However, we did have an audience from next door as they were out as late enjoying a bonfire. We finally hit the sheets about 3:30am, only to wake up to a full day ahead of us having to help get ready for Amber's open house.

The open house itself went on with out any serious glitches and was a ton of fun. Lots of family and friends showed up to celebrate Amber's accomplishment of graduating high school, to which we are appreciative. About 11:30pm the party started winding down, Bob and I headed over to the high school reunion picnic event at one of his graduating peer's homes so he could visit with people he graduated with and doesn't see very often. We ended up making it home about 2:30am, again not climbing into bed 'til about 3am. Waking up Sunday we had breakfast with many of the people that were at Bob's high school class picnic prior to heading to Jackie's to pick up the tables to take them back to SJ. We also hit up another open house before we crashed for the evening.

It was a very fun and eventful weekend. And since our camera is no longer any good, it may be a while before more pictures can get posted. I will be shopping for a new camera, hopefully soon :)
