Torch Lake 2007

Torch Lake

Our vacation started with Bob and I frantically cleaning the boat, truck, apartment, and packing Friday night. The plan was to meet my parents at the Hitching Post for breakfast Saturday morning at about 8:30am. It didn't happen, but not because we didn't finish our chores. The Hitching Post was actually too busy for the amount of people we had traveling in our train. Saturday morning we took off to meet my parents in Mt. Pleasant with Erik, Sharre and their 5 kids behind us.

We arrived at Torch Lake about 1:30 in the afternoon. Unpacked, then relaxed with some cold soothing beverages of beer, mixed drinks and wine. Sunday, the day Bob asked me to be his lovely wife, him, his daughter Amber and her boyfriend Sam, and I headed up Old Mission Peninsula, 1) since Amber & Sam had never been there 2) Bob had a secret mission in mind. He wanted to wait until the next weekend when more of my family would be around, but he knew the secret would explode before he could ask me himself.

Monday morning about 2:30 am, Bob, Amber & Sam left for home. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it was pretty uneventful, with me, Sharre, her kids and my mom and dad. Wednesday night Bob came back with my sister Traci and her boyfriend in tow. Thursday came around and my Aunt Vanessa, Uncle Lynn and cousin Andy and his fiancee Jen arrived. That evening we headed to the Alden Bar for some Karaoke, which was a blast. Friday rolled in with Brandon and his new beautiful girlfriend Kim. Had a bon-fire with everyone toasting Bob and I and then Jen and Andy (their upcoming wedding is in December). Saturday we spent a majority of the day at the sandbar and about 6pm we headed over to my aunt's place for a bar-b-que. Us Flip-Cup champs introduced the game to my Aunt Jill, Uncle Leo, Cousin Leo and Cousin Ashley's hubby, Billy. I don't think they realized what they were getting themselves into. I heard the next morning that cousin Leo was sicker than a dog and crawling all over... hmmm. Sunday we went out to the sandbar for the last few rays of sun for our vacation.

It was a great time with great family and friends. We definitely cannot wait for this, hopefully, annual family vacation!
